Diwali Poem

Diwali poem 1 =>

Many Many Happy Returns Of  Diwali overwhelm as odorous air resound
Effusing joy to all abound
Pearls of glitter in this autumn nights
beautify our lives else trite
With sparkles that mixed skies
As soaring spirits of powder wander
Let us thank the heavenly might
In this festive season of lights.

As echelons of zillion lights adorn,
And echoes of victory and thunder swarm,
Watching even a tiny sparkle perform,
Sparking joy despite forlorn,
Exhorts a hearty and happy year merely born

Today’s the `Festival of Lights’ all o’er;
A joyful day for minds and hearts and souls;
And people crowd the Temples to offer,
Prayers, resolving to take better roles.

 And most of them are richly dressed and clean,
And eat such pretty foods and sweets with fun;
Whilst noisy crackers burst, their lights are seen,
It seems to be a happy day on Earth!

 But are there not hearts woe-filled, very sad?
Denied of laughter, smiles for days;
Today’s the triumph of Good over bad;
But what about the wastage in much ways?
True joy is when you see someone else smile!
True charity gives joy in Heavenly style.

 The sweet smell of flowers
The array of colors
Diwali is here
Firecrackers are heard
Candles are lit
Children play
gifts are given
We pray to the gods
Diwali is here.

Diwali poem 2 =>

Deepavali is here, Deepavali is here
That grand festival of Lights
That ends evil after a prolonged fight
When god with all its might
Leads us from darkness to Light.

Deepavali is here, Deepavali is here
That great festival of sound
When crackers and laughter abound
When crackers and sparklers light up the sky
When delighted children jump with joy.

Deepavali is here, Deepavali is here
That beautiful festival of snacks and sweets
Where everyone enjoys a royal feast
When old and young with delight meet
With love and affection all hearts beat.

Diwali is here, Diwali is here
That genial festival which celebrates victory
The ancient festival of myth and mystery
That is mentioned in both mythology and history
The festival that signals Triumph over Tragedy.

The clear blue sky,
The smell of flowers,
The colours of Rangoli,
And the sound of crackers.

The gifts and sweets from dear ones,
And the getting of their love,
The light of the candles below,
And the incredible fireworks up above.

Lighting lamps at our homes,
Making the less opportune smile,
Putting on new apparels,
Show our friends some style.

Paying respects to the gods,
And decorating for them the thali,
This is what the occasion is all about,
This is the spirit of Deepavali.
